I figured I would show off a bit, and provide a starting place. I'm going to use this blog to show off some of my school work, and personal projects.

I'll start off with high school. I won't divide these up by year, but they were mostly done Junior and Senior year.

My New Home Town

So here I am. The just graduated high school senior, off to college. An expensive college. My parents and I decided I was to live off campus, it was actually cheaper than living in the dorms. But what we didn't bank on was that my loans wouldn't cover living off campus. (Thank financial aid councilors who don't know what you're talking about!)

So out the window went my own studio or one bedroom apartment. I was forced to look for a roommate or two. There are three of house, and of course, my little dog. We scored a three bedroom house on the outskirts of the historic downtown, a few blocks from several of the school's buildings.

In the past four months that I've been here, I've come to love this town. It's beautiful, but it still is an urban city. In the downtown area, there are TONS of these live oak trees. They keep their leaves during the winter. They also have the most curious thing... Spanish moss. The moss grows completely on it's own, it's not a parasite like many people think. (I learned that from a tour guide)

River Street is also gorgeous. To get to River Street, you go as far as you can downtown. You hit these cobblestone You can watch tugs and shipping boats come in and out the river. When it's warm out (It's been in the 30's-40's) I like to sit there and draw, or take pictures of random passer by.

My name is Megan. I'm an art student based in Savannah, GA, and Sussex County, NJ. Having just started college, it takes a lot of time, planning, and just plain guts to survive. I do not live in the dorms. I do not have a meal plan. I deliver newspapers to give me some income. My parents help me when they can. I have an obnoxiously large amount of student loans. But it appears to all be worth it... hopefully, in four to five years. That's what they tell me anyways.
